Obesity means having too much body fat. It is different from being overweight, which means weighing too much. The weight may come from muscle, bone, fat, and/or body water. Both terms mean that a person’s weight is greater than what’s considered healthy for his or her height.
Obesity occurs over time when you eat more calories than you use. The balance between calories-in and calories-out differs for each person. Factors that might affect your weight include your genetic makeup, overeating, eating high-fat foods, and not being physically active.
A 33-year-old woman named Nikki Webster weighed over 650 pounds. She could barely stand or even take a shower by herself. Her body became a curse for her. Her life was like a hell and she wanted to suicide. She was a food addict who was unable to stop herself from binging. Her father never stop her eating for love to her.
’I’ve done this to myself. Food has always been an addiction for me. It is killing me,’ she tearfully explained.
At one point of her obesity life, she decided enough was enough and had a crucial gastric bypass surgery.
This one pledge may have saved her life and one year later Nikki have been able to loss more than 200 pounds.
